Christmas - a day for expenses

Posted by oniger on 25 Dec 2008 | Tagged as: Environment

Christmas is one of the happiest occasions Christians are celebrating.  This is also one of the most extravagant expenses in the life of a Christian.  I am not trying to offend or do convey something else here, but since December is where employees and workers receive their 13th month pay and bonuses, most of us have the capacity to celebrate this family occasion.

It is extravagant in the sense that we need to buy such thing as Christmas decors particularly the lighting where we are not only spending for the bulb but also to the energy it requires on a one month long observation of the Christmas season. Though there are already funds provided for this occasion, the fact that people are even competing to who will be creating the biggest and most beautiful Christmas tree, I find it, extravagant.

Food and drinks are another expenses we could not avoid.  Since it is Thanksgiving day, we need to provide as many delicious and mouth watering food as we can to express our deepest gratitude of what blessings we received.  This is good, of course, as long as you have the capacity to shoulder the expenses.  But spending much while we are still having such payables which need immediate attention but has been forgotten due to the preparation of the Christmas celebration, I think, is another thing that needs fixing.

Love is the essence of celebrating Christmas.  But most us, not all of us, but many among us have forgotten what really is the reason why we are celebrating Christmas.  Love has been forsaken actually.  Isn’t it much better if we give and share some of our blessings to the needy?  Have you done so, by giving some amount of some food for those who needed it badly?  Have you donated something with out expecting any in return?

It is not yet late.  After all, it is still Christmas.   Christmas is love and sharing.  If you really are one of those believers and you can afford to give one, try to give.  After all, gift giving and love should not only be done during Christmas, but it should be done the whole year if not throughout our lives.

Manny “PACMAN” Pacquiao wins again

It was a good fight to sum it up.  But in terms of boxing, there’s always a winner and a loser. Issues are done now.  The PACMAN has made it again to prove he is the pound for pound boxing icon of the world.

As it was shown, Dela Hoya did not have the chance to go against with the speed of Pacquiao.  From the first to the 8th round De la Hoya showed only a bit of his punches.  He did not even launched a good right punch to Pacquiao and the later did not suffer a bit.

The title “Mexicutioner” for the PACMAN will now be a world record, though the man doesn’t like it to be so.  But the world has spoken, Manny gained this “Mexicutioner” title.

Winning or losing the game is not what it takes.  Dela Hoya accepting defeated on the 9th round had shown something.  He is really a brave man to do such action like that.  Dela Hoya as the “Golden Boy” will always be the Golden Boy.  That action is a proof that he really is one brave boxer in the boxing arena.

The Philppines will surely be celebrating again for this bout.  A heroes welcome is awaiting Manny in the Philippines.

World Aids Day - a day for the future aids victims

Posted by oniger on 01 Dec 2008 | Tagged as: Entertainment

My country is celebrating World Aids Day tonight in one the finest venue in the center of business community of my country.  This is to inform and enlighten everyone about the deadly aids and its circumstances that have been being shouted ever since aids is discovered.

The same thing with the neighboring countries, for sure, there’s also the kind of celebration to continue to enlighten the community about aids.  But do you think this type of celebration really counts in reducing the number of aids victims?  Yes, why not, at least.  Let say there are supposed to be 100 person to be infected with aids and because of this celebrations and shouts, I could say, it reduces to around 70 percent or more.  That’s a good number.

We could relate the situation of aids to the situation of the world and its rapidly changing climate.  There’s that percentage that really counts in preserving this lovely earth, but the damage that had been created are now impossible to control.  We could minimize it for sure, but due to some unaviodable circumstances, the world continue to lead to its self destruction.  People of the world could not stop it anymore, but what we can do for now is to prolong the current situation before the destruction or the judgment day comes.

Aids in particular could no longer be stopped.  In fact, if only aids could infect people using the internet, I am sure, the number of aids victims will rise into triple if not quadruple.  You know, this blog is an example, it receives hundreds of sex, drugs and gambling related comments in a day.  And, we all know that these factors are some of the root cause of the spreading of aids.

Thanks a lot, aids is not transferable by such viewing the occurrences via the internet.  So, let as go and celebrate the World Aids Day!
